Patients may also use their Primary Care Medical Home where they are enrolled or Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center to receive walk-in immunizations during posted hours. If needed, patients may also receive recommended vaccines from a TRICARE-approved network pharmacy but should bring a receipt of that vaccine to their PCM to ensure it is documented in their electronic medical record.
    • Patients who require a vaccine that is outside of CDC-recommended age guidelines (e.g., a shingles shot prior to age 50 years) should have their provider either complete the BAMC-specific Immunization Order Sheet or have a written prescription prior to coming to the BAMC Allergy clinic.
    • Active duty are encouraged to go to the Medical Readiness Clinic (MRC) located at the McWethy Troop Medical Clinic on JBSA-Fort Sam Houston (across from the fire station at 3051 Garden Ave) for any required vaccines but are welcome to come to the BAMC Allergy clinic during walk-in hours. The MRC is open Mon-Fri 0600 to 1430 daily except the 1st and 3rd Thursday when they are closed at 1200hrs. (210-295-0924).
    • Civilian hospital employees, hospital rotators, or trainees working in the hospital should first stop at BAMC’s Occupational Health clinic prior to coming to the Allergy/Immunology clinic for recommended vaccines.
